Yearby Airstrip - Prior Permission ONLY

Yearby Airstrip 2017:

The current view looking South East towards New Marske and New Marske Woods on the hill.

The foreground shows the A174 roundabout, with the B1269, and Kirkleatham Memorial Park and Crematorium.

The Memorial Park and Crematorium opened in 2014 and is not shown on any other photograph.

The following two photos show the location of what we refer to as the Winter Strip (the darker green line). This is the smoothest and driest surface throughout the year.

In Summer the whole strip can be usable after the hay crop is harvested. The Winter line shows up clearly after the hay is gone and is the driest line if we have a wet Summer.

During periods of wet weather Yearby Airstrip can become waterlogged.

Prior permission and briefing are essential.

Use is at the pilot's discretion and risk.

During Summer months the whole of the field can be useable.

The power lines are 125ft AGL and 600m from Runway 25.

Avoid overflying Yearby Village.

There is a large industrial complex to the west of the airstrip.

Avoid overflying this complex, Kirkleatham and Redcar
