| This tachometer will work on 2 stroke engines that have either 2 or 6 imp. per revolution. Note! Do not exceed 30 volts ac. For lighting coil hook-up: Some engines have 2 lighting ( charging ) coils. You can connect the tach to either of these coils. Use the lower wattage coil ( USUALLY GREEN ) for the tach. keeping the higher wattage coil ( USUALLY YELLOW ) for lighting and charging the battery. Connect pin #2 to one of the lighting coil wires. Connect pin #5 to the other lighting coil wire. The loop wire is usually left uncut. For Ducatti ignition or systems with a dedicated wire for tachometer use: Connect pin #2 to the grey ( tachometer lead ) wire. Connect pin #5 to engine ground. The loop wire is usually cut. |
