This digital thermometer and control unit is a subassembly of our Models "405LED" and "405STROBE" low temp warning lights. Some of our custormers have asked if they could purchase this unit without a light, to allow them to control their own devices with it, so we are offering it here.......
When the temperature drops to the setpoint, this unit will provide a transistor closure to ground, to activate external devices, until the unit is turned off or until the temperature goes above the setpoint. The adjustable setpoint range covers the entire temperature monitoring range of -40 to +120 degrees F.
The Model 405BOX-15 operates from any source of 6 to 12 volts DC (batteries not included) and draws about 1 Milliamp (.001 Amp), in its un-alarmed condition. The transistor closure to ground can provide up to 500 Milliamps (0.5 Amp) of current. It can be used to turn on small buzzers or lamps (up to 500 Milliamps). Or a 12 volt relay may be used to allow the control of much higher powered DC or AC loads such as valves, pumps, etc.
This digital control box unit (which also contains the temperature sensor), comes with a 15 foot three wire cable. The three simple connections are:
+12 volts
Ground
Output=Transistor closure to ground
